At Neuro-Insight, assessments for children and youth are designed to clarify concerns related to ADHD, learning disabilities, developmental disabilities (e.g., autism or intellectual delay), mental health (e.g., mood, anxiety), brain injury, neurological syndromes, and more. Using a comprehensive, evidence-based approach, evaluations aim to deliver clear diagnoses, meaningful insights, and practical recommendations to support success at home, at school, and in daily life.

A psychoeducational assessment is recommended for children and youth who exhibit learning difficulties or differences at school. It provides insight into the cognitive, psychological, and learning profile of your child in order to identify specific learning needs and optimize school and psychosocial functioning. The assessment offers practical, evidence-based recommendations to support a child’s success at school and in daily life.
(Ages 6 - 19)

A neuropsychological assessment is generally recommended for children and youth with complex medical or neurological histories who present with cognitive, behavioural, learning, and/or psychosocial difficulties. It provides insight into the impact of the condition (e.g., brain injury, epilepsy, prematurity) on the child’s cognitive, academic, and psychosocial functioning in order to provide recommendations to optimize functioning.
(Ages 6 - 19)

A psychodiagnostic assessment is mental health focused. It helps to identify and understand emotional, behavioral, and social functioning to clarify mental health concerns and guide treatment. Through interviews, standardized measures, and observation, the assessment provides insight into areas such as anxiety, mood, attention, and behaviour, leading to personalized recommendations for support at home, school, and in therapy.

Parent Consultation and Coaching
Dr. Deotto also offers parent-focused counselling and consultation to support caregivers in understanding and responding to their child’s emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs. These sessions provide parents with practical, research-informed strategies to promote emotional regulation, resilience, and healthy attachment, and are particularly helpful when a child is very young or when parent-led intervention is clinically indicated. Parent work is collaborative and strengths-based, with an emphasis on empowering caregivers and fostering secure, supportive parent–child relationships.
Executive functions (EFs) help children and teens manage their time, emotions, behaviour, and responsibilities. When these skills are underdeveloped, children may appear forgetful, disorganized, overwhelmed, or unmotivated. EF coaching helps people, especially those with ADHD, learning challenges, or neurological / neurodevelopmental histories, build practical skills for daily life by improving planning, organization, time management, focus, prioritization, and self-regulation of emotions and behaviour. The goal is for these improvements to facilitate academic learning, social relationships, stress reduction, and increased self-confidence through personalized strategies and consistent practice.
Services are grounded in neuropsychological science and informed by assessment data. The intervention focuses on teaching practical, developmentally appropriate strategies and routines that can be applied at home, at school, and in daily life. Parent involvement and coaching are integrated to support skill generalization and long-term success.
